The Seventh of Seven Sins in Obesity – The Mechanized & Digital Environment
Monday, November 28th, 2011Under western culture, we now reside in a totally mechanized society: where we virtually never have to lift a finger in physical labor for any task in daily life.
The positive side of this reality means that we are saving our physical energy for doing other productive activities and preventing ongoing fatigue; or we’d be wasting a lot of valuable time and energy every day.
However, the negative side of the achievement is much more serious than many of us are aware; because our body is designed for productive movement and when we do not get enough movement, then the unwanted effects become far more dangerous to the all around health and life expectancy.
As we don’t use movement in exercise, we are able to be described rather offensively as “couch potatoes”, because all we’re prone to do is sit and only focus on a computer of watch television all day. Only then do we just use a car to visit to visit different places.
It means that we do hardly any exercise and actually do NO a lot more than sit and eat a lot of fast-food, appropriately nicknamed “junk” food; because aside from being tasty, it adds no vitamins and minerals to the body. The only thing it will add is fat, which is then more difficult to get rid of.
This is the final sin for what causes the pattern of obesity in everyday life and it is not just in the USA and Canada; it is happening in most western cultures around the globe. The united kingdom now has exactly the same problem, as does Australia and now that China is becoming another super-power, exactly the same thing will occur there also.
It is a really serious epidemic, because people which have trapped in this epidemic and do not realize the negative impact of health problems that obesity causes that will lower their life span rate by a minimum of ten years.
Since children mirror their parent’s lifestyle pattern; the epidemic is also growing in children. At one point schools decreased their emphasis on outdoor sporting activities; but it rapidly became reinstated, because of the high rates in early childhood obesity that is developing.
Play activities in youngsters were in the past very creative, using simple toys for creating active child play. Because the advent of computers, digital games have become more passive and mechanized; reinforcing a far more sedentary style of play; than anything physical with competitive involvement.
Should you belong to a household, where this is currently happening; then you need to consider very seriously relating to this whole section of obesity; because the dangers are much more severe, not just to improve your health, but the health of the children as well.
Western society has created an adverse rolling pattern of sedentary living that starts with the car for helping the family travel around in. Then using junk food dining and drinking sugary drinks rather than water, has increased the negative pattern right into a volitile manner to food and fluid consumption.
The change in family dynamics continues to be rescued parents in making use of this pattern directed by children that now transfers the adult obesity into childhood obesity. Using the stress that’s occurs in single parent households; there comes one more burden on a smaller amount of time for you to accomplish all the everyday living tasks.
Free time becomes far less active than it use to become, if this actually exists And lastly digital and mechanized environment just compounds the problem much more, because we have now removed the physical ability out of every day activities. We have in essence, created a life where we have hardly any value in living.
